Sequence Editor: Crash When Deleting a Condition Branch

What to do when the Outreach Hub freezes or crashes after removing a path from a condition.

Written by Fabian Matthies

You’re editing a campaign sequence in the Outreach Hub and want to delete a path from a condition (branch/switch) with multiple options – but the page freezes or crashes completely? Even removing the connections beforehand doesn’t help? This is a known issue. Here’s how to work around it.

🚨 The Problem

When you have a condition (branch) with 3 or more options in a campaign sequence and try to delete one of those options, the sequence editor may freeze or crash. This happens regardless of whether you remove the connections first or not.

This behavior is a known bug that occurs sporadically. Our tech team is working on a fix but has been unable to reliably reproduce the error, as it doesn’t occur on every attempt.

🔧 Workaround: Build the Sequence from Scratch

Until the bug is fixed, we recommend the following workaround:

  1. Don’t delete paths from existing conditions. Avoid removing options from a branch if the sequence is already built.

  2. Build the sequence from scratch. Instead of using a template and deleting paths, build the sequence manually and only add the conditions and paths you actually need.

  3. Duplicate the campaign. If you already have a similar campaign, you can duplicate it and adjust the sequence – as long as you don’t delete existing paths.

📋 First Aid When the Editor Freezes

If the sequence editor has already frozen, try these steps:

  1. Wait briefly – sometimes the system is still processing in the background. If a pop-up appears, click “Wait.”

  2. Reload the page (F5 or Cmd+R) – your changes before the crash may be lost, but the campaign itself remains intact.

  3. Clear browser cache – go to Chrome settings and delete stored data for honeysales.

  4. Try a different browser – test with Edge or Firefox to rule out a Chrome-specific issue.

🐛 Help Us Find the Bug

Since the error is hard to reproduce, additional information can help us greatly. If the crash occurs again:

  1. Press F12 in your browser (Chrome/Edge) to open the developer tools.

  2. Switch to the "Console" tab.

  3. Take a screenshot of the error messages displayed there.

  4. Send us the screenshot via the in-app chat.

This information helps our tech team identify the exact cause of the problem and develop a permanent fix.
