Leads Stuck at "Find & Verify" – Email Step Not Starting?

What to do when your leads pass email verification but the next sequence step doesn’t execute.

Written by Fabian Matthies

You’ve started a campaign and your leads have completed the "Find & Verify Email" step – but nothing happens after that? The next step (e.g., email message) simply doesn’t execute, even though a schedule is set and the option "Send to platform-discovered email addresses" is enabled? This issue usually has a clear cause that’s easy to fix.

💡 The Most Common Cause: Missing “If Verified” Condition

When you use the "Find and Verify" step in your campaign, you need to add the "If verified" condition as an output afterward. This tells the subsequent steps to process the verified leads.

Without this condition, leads are verified but the sequence doesn’t know what to do next – and email sending won’t start.

🔧 How to Fix It

Step 1: Duplicate the campaign

Since the sequence structure of a running campaign can’t be changed retroactively, you need to duplicate the affected campaign via the three dots (…) menu in the Outreach Hub.

Step 2: Add the "If verified" condition

In the duplicated campaign, open the sequence and make sure the "If verified" condition is set as the output after the "Find and Verify" step. Only then should the following steps (email message, follow-up, etc.) come next.

Step 3: Re-upload your leads

Enable the "Allow duplicates" rule when uploading again. Since the leads weren’t contacted in the old campaign, they can be re-uploaded without issues.

Step 4: Launch and monitor

Start the new campaign and check after a few hours whether the leads are correctly flowing through the sequence and email sending has begun.

📧 Email Health Check: What Do the Scores Mean?

In the Outreach Hub, you’ll see an Email Health Check Score for each sender email address (e.g., 1/4, 2/4, 4/4). This checks various technical settings of your email domain:

  • SPF – Sender Policy Framework: Defines which servers may send emails for your domain.

  • DKIM – DomainKeys Identified Mail: Confirms the email hasn’t been tampered with.

  • DMARC – Domain-based Message Authentication: Defines how unauthenticated emails are handled.

  • Blacklist Check – Checks whether your domain or IP is on a blocklist.

Does the score need to be 4/4 for emails to send?

No. Emails can still be sent even if the Health Check isn’t fully “green” – as long as the critical components (SPF and DKIM) are correctly configured. In particular, the DMARC check and certain provider-level blacklist entries (e.g., UCEPROTECT Level 3) typically don’t block sending.

What to do with a low Health Score?

  1. Check with your email domain provider (e.g., IONOS, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) whether SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are correctly configured.

  2. Then re-run the Health Check in the Outreach Hub to see if the score has improved.

  3. If the score remains low but the critical settings are correct, sending will still work.

✅ Quick Checklist

  1. Is the "If verified" condition set after the “Find and Verify” step?

  2. Is the email step in the sequence activated (checkbox)?

  3. Is the sender email address selected in the sequence?

  4. Is the Email Health Check at least 2/4 (SPF + DKIM correct)?

  5. Is the campaign enabled for sending in the SignalHub?

  6. Are the timezone and scheduled send time correct?
